The Independence Hotel is a historic hotel. The original hotel, completed in 1964, was designed by French architects Leroy and Mondet as a conscious landmark to demonstrate the country’s optimism following independence from France. During this time the hotel’s guests included Catherine Deneuve and Jacqueline Kennedy, and the hotel served as a “show piece” for the Royal Family, with King Norodom Sihanouk taking responsibility for the hotel’s original interior design.
Today the hotel is totally refurbished (done 2007) and is a modern luxery hotel with all amenities you can dream of. The is some newly built bungalows (built 2010). There is a business center and conference rooms for up to 650 participants.
You have only 50m down to independence beach and there is even a restaurant on the beach. Most rooms have a fantastic sea view (see the pictures).
